Basic manners for kids are some manners we can teach to our children so that, hopefully, they become kind, polite, and have good manners. These good qualities of manners should be part of their everyday behaviour when interacting with other people. It is important for us to teach good manners to children at a young age, since a child absorbs everything for the first 6 years of their life. The child has a different relationship with his environment than we do. The child absorbs it. The things he sees are not just remembered; they form part of his soul. He incarnates in himself all that is in the world around him that his eyes see and his ears hear. -Maria Montessori, "The Absorbent Mind"
The development of the brain during the first 6 years of a child's life is so important that it effects the way a child behaves when he becomes an adult. Children develop 85% of their core brain structure by the time they are five years old. Your child will now build on this core foundation for the rest of her life.(from: Age of Montessori)
That is why teaching a child basic manners at a young age is important so that it becomes their habit and, hopefully, they become good, kind, polite people in the future.
Here are 5 ways to teach basic manner for kids:
Say "Please" When asking for something
-
When asking for something, you should say, "Please". For example, teach your children to say "please" every time they ask something of their teacher at school. Another example, such as when your child needs help from you or his or her sibling, they have to use the word "please". This habit will continue until they become adults and meet other people in their life. That will make them polite people.
