High-fiber foods are very good for our bodies because they can prevent us from developing heart disease, reduce the risk of developing cancer, and are very good for our skin health. According to Joane Slavin, Ph.D., R.D.N., a professor of nutrition from the University of Minesota, high-fiber foods can help good bacteria in the intestines so that they can prevent inflammation in the body that can cause disease and can boost immunity in the body. The most important thing is that our bodies get enough fiber to get the maximum benefits from fiber for the body. Generally, people will consume as much as 15 grams of fiber a day, while our bodies need 28 grams of fiber a day. If we enter fiber into the body at once, our stomach will feel full and sick. Therefore, we need a way to introduce the fiber into the body gradually. Some vegetables and fruits as high-fiber sources are:

Peas are one type of bean that has a high fiber value. One cup of peas contains 14–19 grams of fiber, which means 56–76 percent of the body's daily fiber needs. You can mix peas into soups or add 1/4 cup of black beans to your green smoothies. This will add about 3–4 grams of fiber to meet the daily fiber needs of the body.
